Hanford Clean Up Workers Prepare to Enter ‘Atomic Man’ Room
While some workers wrap up preparations to enter one of the most contaminated rooms at the Department of Energy’s Hanford Nuclear Reservation site in Richland, Wash., others have been taking thousands of air samples trying to determine what has sickened more than three dozen workers in another part of the complex.
When workers enter the hazardous and historic McCluskey Room at the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Hanford Nuclear Reservation Site this summer, they will be much safer than the former worker for whom the room is named.
