By the Numbers: Workplace Fatalities [Photo Gallery]
In late September, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released its preliminary Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries for 2013. Overall, there were 4,405 workplace fatalities recorded in the United States, down from 4,628 work-related deaths in 2012.
In 2013, U.S. workers died at a rate of 3.2 fatalities per 100,000 full-time-equivalent workers, down from a rate of 3.4 per 100,000 in 2012, according to BLS.
